Privacy Policy
Short version: Volero does not collect personal data for our own use. Screen, sound, input, files and chat stay on your devices. We do not run a session server.
What stays on your devices
Your Mac's screen, sound, clicks, typing, clipboard, files and session chat travel directly between your own devices over an end-to-end encrypted connection. They do not pass through a Volero session server — we don't run one.
What lives in your Apple account
If you use the same iCloud account on your devices, access codes can be kept in iCloud Keychain so your other devices can reconnect. If you turn on anywhere-access, a record can be stored in your private iCloud (CloudKit) database: Mac name, how to reach it, and when it was last seen. That database belongs to your Apple ID. Volero's developer cannot read it.
On-device assistant
If you use Volero Assistant or “what's on my screen”, Apple Intelligence and Vision OCR run on the device (and, where Apple provides it, Apple's Private Cloud Compute). We do not send those prompts or screenshots to a Volero server.
Face ID and Touch ID
Optional. You can lock the app, or require biometrics before this device can prove itself to your Macs. Biometric data stays in Apple's Secure Enclave. We never see it.
What we do not collect
No analytics SDKs, no advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, no Volero account. “Report a Problem” only sends a diagnostic report you choose to share through Apple's share sheet.
Permissions
Volero Host asks macOS for Screen Recording (to share your screen) and Accessibility (to carry out the clicks and keystrokes you send). Volero asks for Local Network access to find your Macs, Camera only if you scan a pairing QR code, and Face ID / Touch ID only if you turn those options on.
Retention, deletion and consent
Session video exists only while you are connected, unless you start a session recording, which is saved on your device. To stop sharing: disconnect, quit Volero Host, or press New code on the Host (old codes stop working). To delete saved Macs, remove them in Volero. To delete iCloud Keychain codes and the private CloudKit Mac list, sign out of iCloud on the device or delete those items in the app / iCloud settings. Uninstalling the apps removes local settings on that device.
Third parties
We do not sell or share your screen or account data with advertisers. Apple provides iCloud, CloudKit, Keychain and (if you use it) Apple Intelligence under Apple's own terms.
